Item Description
The Jeffrey Mine is one of the most famous localities in the history of Canada. This renowned large quarry has produced some of the most distinctive and magnificent quality Garnet crystals extant. These "Cinnamon" Grossulars from Jeffrey are known for their unique orange color, gemminess, top luster and superb "textbook" form. This specimen is a near "floater" piece featuring, small yet superb quality, sharp, lustrous, beautiful orange color, GEM/gemmy, dodecahedral crystal of Grossular measuring 3 mm on all sides. As I mentioned, the piece is nearly a complete "floater", crystallized almost all the way around, but there is a small spot where it was contacted and attached to the pocket wall at some point. This material is no longer being found as the Jeffrey Quarry is completely defunct and will not produce these specimens again. Don't miss out on this Canadian classic.
