Item Description

One of the classic specimens of the famous and world-class Gypsums from the Alabaster Quarries in Zaragoza, Spain. These specimens are renowned for their amazing water clear clarity, glistening luster and superb crystallization. This attractive small cabinet specimen hosts a few WATER-CLEAR, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, soft golden color "sword"-shaped crystals on Gypsum measuring up to 5.2 cm sitting on white opaque Gypsum matrix (alabaster). The main crystal has an unusual stepped termination, with a small reentrant face that actually goes down into the termination. Hard to explain, but beautiful in person. This piece dates back to the late 1980s - early 1990s. A wonderful representation of this beloved material. If you like Gypsum, then these specimens are a must have for your collection.
