Item Description

A 2.8 cm, sharp, moderately lustrous, classic ultramarine-blue Lazurite dodecahedron is dramatically perched atop a sawed mountain of starkly contrasting sugary marble. A 1.2 cm secondary Lazurite and scattered tiny pyrites are typical and fine accessories. The textbook crystal is complete all-around and essentially pristine. One prism face is contacted, where another crystal once lay, but there is no damage, per se. Lazurite is a variety of Hauyne, both members of the Sodalite Group. This ancient locale, mined for thousands of years is the Type Locality. The piece displays beautifully without aid. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection.
