Hematite included Quartz

Item Description

Robust, red crystals of Quartz stick straight up off of this colorful piece from the Orange River area of South Africa. This large cabinet plate features at least two dozen stout Quartz crystals from 1.5 to 5 cm in length that host bright red Hematite inclusions just under their surface creating distinct and attractive phantoms. The internal Hematite dusting is mostly complete, however, there are areas at, or along, the terminations, or even the back of the crystals that lack any Hematite and one can see right into the translucent to transparent crystals. All of the crystals are growing in essentially vertical orientation in parallel growth or nearly so. Fiery color, pristine condition.
