Hematite included Quartz

Item Description

A very elegant Hematite-stained Quartz crystal group from the Orange River area of South Africa. This aesthetic piece features a few dozen glassy, transparent to translucent, 1 to 5 cm, perfectly terminated Quartz crystals. They have a pinkish red tint for most of their length and then have rich brick-red tips. The marked coloring is very distinct with body of the crystals displaying a pinkish red hue throughout the length of the prism faces, and then are abruptly terminated by vibrant red terminations that are heavily included with Hematite. The matrix is coarse granular milky Quartz and the bottom also shows how the Quartz crystals are near colorless to slightly milky at their interior and the Hematite inclusions are largely restricted to the periphery of the crystals. This is a stunning cabinet piece.
