Item Description

Here we have a beautiful and certainly uncommon vibrant blue Hemimorphite from the M'fouati Mine in Republic of Congo (Brazzaville). While blue Hemimorphites are not unheard of from this locality, they had not been seen on the market in many years until some miners decided to explore old tunnels and risk their lives to collect new specimens in the early 2010s. The intense blue color in these specimens is caused by copper content, and really creates some of the most attractive Hemimorphites from any location. This showy, three-dimensional small cabinet display specimen is filled with attractive rich sky-blue colored botryoids of Hemimorphite measuring up to 3.5 mm across sitting on a layer of beige to silvery colored Willemite with minor associated golden Mimetite on gossan matrix. I haven't seen anything new from this locale in the past couple years, so I don't know if there will be more, so if you've always wanted one of these important Hemimorphites, don't miss out on this rare and beautiful display specimen. Priced in the inventory at $2,750.
