Item Description

There are only a few world localities where Herderite is found in gem quality crystals. For reference, the species is technically Hydroxylherderite, but in the gem world, everybody calls it Herderite. It is a rare collector gem especially in larger size stones. I have seen faceted Herderites from only a few localities over the years, and they have some of the most unusual colors in the out there. Typically the Herderites you'll see from Brazil are more on the purple side, but there have been a few isolated discoveries that produced green/yellow stones like this one. This stone is nearly eye clean, and has a light yellow-green hue. It has an "Emerald" cut, and is a wonderful example of this elusive material.
