Item Description
An excellent cabinet specimen, this combination zeolite is from the Rat's Nest Claim in Idaho. The pink Heulandites are curved and tabular, always layered. This flattened 'bowtie' habit is classic for the species, and the superb, pearly luster enhances the pink color. These clusters richly cover the layer of snow-white Mordenite below, and there are even pockets within the matrix that are filled with fibrous Mordenite. The Heulandites reach up to 2 cm in length. This showy combination specimen compares very favorably with Indian zeolites, so you can see why beautiful Rat's Nest Claim specimens such as this one are so popular. (collected by John Cornish)
