Hyalite Opal (Opal-AN) on Quartz (ex Shields Flynn Collection)

Item Description

An attractive full-sized miniature featuring a group of semi-dendritic Opal-AN (formerly Hyalite Opal) sitting atop a group of sharp, well-formed, iron-stained Quartz crystal matrix. The Opal has an almost "Flos Ferri" look to it. Beautiful fluorescence under SW UV light! It should be noted that the label accompanying this piece states that it is Hyalite Opal on Schorl, but I can't find any Schorl of note, just Quartz crystals. From the Collection of Shields Flynn.
