Item Description

Highly unusual, color-zoned green and yellow, medium luster, translucent, blocky to disc-shaped Hydroxylapatite prisms, to 2.3 cm, are aesthetically scattered on the blocky microcline matrix. This showy and excellent small cabinet is from the 2005-2006 finds at the famous Sapo Mine, which produced world-class polychrome tourmalines and fluorapatite specimens. The Sapo Mine probably produced the world's finest examples of Hydroxylapatite. The specimen is illustrated in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the locale.
