Item Description

A razor-sharp 9 x 8 x 3 cm crystal here is one of the largest of the lot and of the find, and it is partially invested with the Meyerhofferite I like because the growths inside create such a stark contrast to the enclosing clear inyoite crystal itself. As well, freestanding meyerhofferite (or perhaps ulexite?) crystals on one side o the piece seem to be novel for this pocket. It is very hard to convey this in photos - in person, the piece is very impressive both for overall size, impact, and aesthetics. This was a surprising find of the early 2000s, and we have seen no more since that time. They are often said to be world's best of species. Also, in contrast to material from Boron, California, these seem to be stable and have not altered or changed surface texture over time (we have had this at least 15 years). Originally valued at the time they came out at $1500, we sold this and got it back in a collection.
