Jade is often associated with the color green, but it's found in a wide range of colors, especially from Myanmar. This material is Jadeite (not Nephrite) and hails from the Hpakan-Tawmaw Jade Tract of northern Myanmar. This is 100% NATURAL material here, no dyes or treatments. The color is a lovely soft green hue with some white streaks. Jade is one of the most popular "non gem quality" stones around, and stones with this color are certainly sought after by collectors. I'm told that the color is caused by the transfer of Ferric Iron (Fe2+) to Ferrous Iron (Fe3+).
