Item Description

Jadeite is a Pyroxene Group mineral and in many instances is a semiprecious to precious stone and very important in certain cultures like China. This exceptional piece of Jadeite rough is from Burma and the cut surface displays an intense green-black color with no internal variation which is a characteristic of high quality Jade. The exterior rind is a pale, almost chalky green. The exposed open face has been roughly cut to judge the quality inside which is even and smooth !) and only has a rudimentary polish. It is a rich piece for lapidary material and carving, and with the extra provenance of being from the Larson collection 137.4 grams.. This has a high value, although you see it so seldom for sale it is hard to determine what to ask.
