Pearlescent, sharp, bone-white adularia crystals and water-clear, gem, sharply terminated quartz crystals are richly and very aesthetically set on this impressive large and sculptural plate from 2013 mining efforts by Avant Mining Company (James Zigras) at this old Arkansas quartz mine, discovered in 1865. The striking large quartz on the edge is 5.4 cm tall. Adularia, a variety of K-feldspar, is very rare from Arkansas. "So far they have hit a major pocket of adularia and quartz combination specimens which are unique in quality and size for North America." See http://www.mindat.org/loc-11725.html. Valued at $2000. A must for the species or locality collector. Adularia in such crystals simply is not known from the USA beyond a few finds. An exceptional large and rich combination plate from the locale and find.
