large Selenite incl. w/ Hematite (RARE combination)

Item Description

An impressive, large, terminated water-clear selenite (gypsum) "wand" is dramatically highlighted by the striking elongated hematite that runs down the middle of the length of the crystal. The waxy luster selenite has striated faces, that further enhance the piece. Amazingly for such a soft mineral, the piece is very nearly pristine, including the termination. The bit of edge wear, lower on the crystal certainly has only minimal impact to this exotic piece. Ex Dr. Bob Byers Collection. VERY RARE large combination material from this antimony-gold mine.
