Legrandite (rare classic material)

Legrandite is a rare and highly sought after zinc arsenate species. It is certainly among the most desirable treasures in the mineral collecting world. The Legrandite specimens from the iconic Mapimi Mine stand as one of the greatest mineral occurrences extant. This small cabinet specimen hosts a group of partial, bright yellow color crystals on Legrandite on Limonite matrix, but if you look in the little vug naer the end of the piece, you will see some GEM quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, gorgeous yellow color, monoclinic prisms measuring up to about 3 mm. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Good specimens of Legrandite are seldom seen on the market, and I don't have to tell you that fine specimens sell for huge money these days. Legrandite is really known from only a handful of localities in good quality specimens, but none of them are anywhere as significant as those from Mapimi, so don't miss out on this classic specimen from this world famous locality.
