Item Description

Lollingite is chemically quite similar to Arsenopyrite (the only difference is the presence of sulfur). We have only seen a handful of Lollingites from Sterling Hill, and this toenail specimen features a few micro crystals (measuring well under 1 mm) of bright silvery colored Lollingite sitting in a mixed Calcite, Franklinite and Willemite matrix. There are a couple of paper arrows glued to the piece to show where the Lollingites are located on the specimen, and we have photographed the Lollingites with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens, but they are SMALL to be sure. From the collection of Richard A. Kosnar, famed mineral dealer and the namesake for the phosphate species Kosnarite. The piece is also accompanied by a couple of hand-written tags from Rich's collecting mentor {Frances} Patricia "Pat" Gross.
