Item Description
A striking, deep 9.0 x 7.5 cm vug is filled with rich green, sparkly bubbly malachite botryoids and is dramatically set on the sculptural large matrix with complementary sky-blue chrysocolla from one of the famous copper mines of DR Congo. The fringe of the vug reveals the classic malachite banding adding much pizzazz to the piece. Older material from DR Congo, as the Dr. Vasco Trancoso label with the piece says Zaire. Zaire was the country name between 1971 and 1997.
