Item Description

Manganite is a species that is found in a wide range of crystal habits. The morphology ranges from euhedral crystals, to acicular "needles" to botryoidal/mammilary aggregates. This piece is an attractive small cabinet specimen from Taouz Caïdat in Morocco featuring a coverage of acicular, metallic, silver-grey colored "needles" of Manganite measuring up to 7 mm on matrix. Manganite is rarely seen from Morocco, and if you're a fan of Moroccan minerals, it's a worthwhile piece to add to your collection. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased.
