Item Description

A showy mounded combination specimen from from recent finds at a pegmatite in the foothills of the Andes of Argentina. Glassy, transparent, smoky quartz crsytals to 1.6 cm are nicely scattered amongst sharp, pastel-pink, microcline crystals, some of which are Carlsbad twins. Tiny, colorless albite crystals are epitaxial on the microcline crystals. Limonite coats part of the backside of the mound. A few broken crystals are noted, but are a modest detraction. HIghly representative combination material from this locale.
