This is an exceptional thumbnail of gem Mimetite crystals from the famous 1971 Gem Pocket! Mimetite crystals that comprise this piece have brilliant luster, are almost totally gem, have well developed prism faces and are terminated by either the flat pinacoid or by the pyramid. There are eight crystals of varying size on this piece with the largest measuring 1.5 cm in size and only one crystal in the main group is not terminated because it is growing into the side of another crystal. These sharp Mimetites are hosted on a brown-red gossan matrix for great contrast and the matrix also hosts a few incomplete Mimetite crystals. A choice Gem Pocket thumbnail of Mimetite from Tsumeb.
