Item Description
Yellow-green, translucent, matte-lustre mimetite botryoids, to about 6 mm, are dramatically festooned on the sculptural, 3-dimensional sturdy large gossan matrix. This impressive large and rich specimen is from the famous Potosi Mine at Santa Eulalia and dates to older finds from the 1960s or 70s. See the excellent 2018 Mineralogical Record Mexico-VIII Special Issue on Santa Eulalia, Vol 49, No. 1. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1987. A very fine and rich larger old mimetite of this style from Santa Eulalia, not as sparkly as mimetite from other Mexico finds, but a rare style nonetheless..
