Mimetite (uncommon old locality) ex Urish collection

Mimetite from many locales in Mexico are common enough on the market, but not from the old Bilbao Mine: it's a very rare locality from which few survived. This is a colorful plate strewn with yellow translucent Mimetite botryoids from 2 mm up to 1.2 cm across. A sliver of Goethite matrix is completely covered on the top with a bubbly surface of yellow rolling Mimetite hemispherules which are in turn are embellished with the larger, translucent yellow Mimetite balls. An attractive piece from this more obscure Mexican Mimetite locality that probably came out in the 1950s or 1960s.. This came out of one of the old collections we handled, a Tucson native and collector who had been at it for decades, named Harold Urish. It comes with a custom base and was valued at $2000.
