Item Description

Classic orange "balls' of aggregated mimetite crystals are richly displayed on this contrasting matrix on this specimen from the old 1800s lead mines of central England. This is an excellent specimen in the size range for the discrete nature of the spherical clusters, AND the fact that they are perched on the dark matrix - the most rare contrast from here. Most are jumbly carpets, or on white matrix. This is a superb level, way above the norm, for this classic material. Mostly prisitne, with just a few balls having small damage. ex. Dick Hauck collection, then Matt McGill lead minerals collection. valued $400-500
