Mottramite (fine locality specimen) (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

A classic eye-catching specimen featuring fine quality sparkling, botryoidal, dark chocolate brown Mottramite groups sitting on oxidized from Tsumeb. The underside of the piece features light greenish-yellow to softer tan-brown colored Mottramite as well, but it's not the same style or quality as the Mottramite on the top of the piece. You don't see Tsumeb Mottramites with this kind of luster very often, and this is certainly one of the better examples of this rare classic material that we've had to offer in the auctions recently. This piece comes to us from the collection of Bob Reynolds, well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California.
