Here we have a lovely and rarely seen solid multicolor Opal from Indonesia. This material has only recently found its way to the market, and it's some of the more attractive new Opals that we've seen from anywhere. This stone COULD be called a Black Opal, but it's really more of a brownish hue in the background, so it's nearly black, but not quite there. As I mentioned, it's a solid gem, not a doublet or a triplet, which means it's more valuable since it didn't require assistance for the color to shine through. It has an "Oval Cabochon" cut and features beautiful patches of electric red, orange, gold, yellow and green when rotated under a strong light. The vibrant color of the Opal against the background makes for a lovely gem, which would do well in a pendant or loose as a great addition to your gem collection. Priced at $900 retail in the inventory.
