Item Description

An excellent cabinet specimen featuring several translucent and showy groups of well-crystallized pinkish-orange Olmiite sitting on a layer of translucent white Calcite on matrix. The largest Olmiite group meaures 1.1 cm. This mineral is truly found in one part of the world in fine display specimens, and the color is so distinctive and unique that it really stands out as one of the most significant NEWLY discovered minerals in recent memory. Keep in mind that virtually all of these specimens were originally labeled as being Poldervaartite, which now has been determined to be an exceptionally rare species.
