Item Description

A beautiful small cabinet sized piece of the very rare copper-containing silicate Papagoite from the type locality for species - the New Cornelia Mine (Ajo Mine), Arizona. Both the front and back of the piece features attractive patches of sparkling greenish-blue Papagoite microcrystals with very minor stark blue Shattuckite on matrix. Papagoite was discovered in 1960, and pieces from the type locality are highly sought after by collector. A true old-time specimen of this rare and beautiful material. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality.
