Item Description

A few years ago, we were fortunate to purchase these specimens from a good friend who collected them on their claim in Antelope Valley. This attractive thumbnail specimen of this rarely seen botryoidal Chalcedony with a very eye-catching baby pink color. The piece has that has formed in a lovely banded / layered growth. I really love the flowing ethereal appearance of the specimen which is amplified by the internal gemminess. I would say the exterior has somewhat of a soft "waxy" luster all over for a pleasing effect. The color really glows when good backlighting and shows an electric green hue under SW UV light. Interestingly, the site where these specimens are found is on BLM land that was part of the childhood home of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor - the Lazy B Cattle Ranch - in southeastern Arizona. If you're a collector of Quartz and its numerous varieties, or for anybody interesting in colorful specimens from the southwestern United States, don't miss out on this one, it's better than most Chalcedony you'll see on the market, especially from the standpoint of color, form and quality.
