Item Description

From a new find in 2019. These Quartz specimens are being marketed as "Rose" or "Strawberry" oddly "Pink Amethyst". The term Amethyst is indicative of the color purple, so I would hesitate using it to describe these specimens, the same way that I discourage the use of the term "Green Amethyst". It's difficult to come up with an accurate descriptor for this material because it's genuinely unique and doesn't quite look like any Quartz specimens from any other locality. These pieces are found as loose geodes and cracked open to expose the beautiful crystals within. This particular piece is lined with sharp, well-formed, gemmy / translucent, soft orangish-pink colored hexagonal prisms measuring up to about 7 mm. Most of the central crystals are in good condition, but the periphery is obviously contacted where the piece was broken apart. The color is not the same as true Rose Quartz, as it has a slightly reddish / orange overtone, and the individual crystals are a bit more "stubby" by comparison. If you collect Quartz, you can't miss out on these exciting, new and interesting pieces from this remote discovery in Argentina.
