A striking, very colorful and sculptural polished chrysocolla and malachite nodule from the famous Star of the Congo Copper Mine. Beautiful variable blue, densely banded chrysocolla veins dramatically course across the banded two-toned malachite matrix. The fantastic banded chrysolla "eye" and scattered malachite "eyes" add real pizzazz to this 360-degree piece. The sides show the dense banding of the two-toned malachite. The back and sides are distinctively different from the front, adding even more character and color to this excellent specimen. Classic older material, as it comes with a pre-1997 label, when the DR Congo was Zaire and Haut-Katanga was Shaba Province. 300 grams mass.
