Purple and Green Quartz ("Grape" Chalcedony)

This is a wonderfully colorful and eye-catching specimen of these fairly new and unique "Grape Agate" or "Grape Chalcedony" specimens from Sulawesi, Indonesia. Obviously these specimens got their nickname due to the fact that they are purple and genuinely resemble bunches of grapes. Although this material is new to the market, very little seems to be out there now, and perhaps it is drying up. If you missed out on these when they first came out, this is a great opportunity to pick up a really attractive specimen for a great piece. This piece is loaded with dozens of eye-catching, translucent, semi-resinous "balls" or spheroids measuring up to about 3 mm which are tightly intergrown and can be seen on every size of the specimen. The color changes from a beautiful purple tone to a forest green hue which is caused by Celadonite inclusions. This piece is nearly what a complete "floater" as it's almost crystallized 100% of the way around, but I can see one tiny point of attachment on the back corner. The quality is fantastic on the display side as it's essentially damage free. Quartz is abundant around the world, but these pieces are truly special and unlike anything we've seen. This miniature sized specimen would make a very nice addition to any Quartz suite. Priced in the inventory at $500.
