Item Description

Hand-collected in 2015, this fine Pyrite runs counter to what is mostly found in the South Mineral Creek area, that being excellent Chalcopyrites often associated with Quartz. Nestled within a seam in rhyolite matrix, the modified Pyrite cubes reach up to 3 cm on edge. Octahedral modifications cause some beveling and cut the corners, which add great visual interest to the already good luster, striations, and color. The aesthetics of these Pyrite crystals commandeering the open seam are quite good, and it is definitely uncommon for this famous area. Unusual locality piece!
