Item Description

Simply put, Les Farges is one of the premier localities in the world for Pyromorphite specimens. These are not only classics from France, but they are some of the most iconic examples of the species known. This piece is a great overall display specimen from this classic locality featuring golden-green to olive green colored hexagonal prisms sitting atop oxidized Quartz matrix. Most of the Pyromorphite crystals are undamaged, but there are a few tiny contacts I can see with the naked eye. The largest crystal measures 8 mm long. If you look closely, you can see the terminations features a slight yellowish hue, typical and iconic for Les Farges Pyromorphites. The piece sits wonderfully on its own without the aid of a base or clay, and the intricate three-dimensional form is extremely eye-catching A great piece for anybody who likes Pyromorphite, old classics from Europe or minerals of France. Valued at $2,000 in the inventory. From the collection Al McGuinness.
