Item Description

Sharp olive-green, lustrous, translucent, textbook hexagonal pyromorphite barrels, to about 1.0 cm, are very aesthetically clustered on both sides of the vuggy, sturdy, sculptural small cabinet matrix. This is classic, excellent and uncommon pyromorphite from the 1970s finds at the small famed Rum Jungle prospect. Botryoidal pyromorphite was also found, but certainly sharp crystals of this quality are the most highly desired. See the 1980 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 11, No. 5. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011. A very fine, well-crystallized pyromorphite from Brown's Prospect.
