Item Description

The Graves Mountain locality in Georgia is best known for producing some of the most impressive Rutile crystals from anywhere in the world. There are a few other species found at this locality which are rarely seen in good crystallized specimens from anywhere else in the United States. Pyrophyllite is one of said species, and some of the most well-known examples come from this locality. This is an impressive, robust, hefty, full cabinet sized display specimen of this classic material featuring carmine colored crystal groups of Pyrophyllite on all sides. There are some rough spots on the piece, so it's not 100% pristine, but you rarely seen specimens of this size from Graves Mountain, and it would make a great addition to any collection of cabinet sized minerals, or pieces from the US or Southeastern US.
