Quartz (Cat's Eye)

There are several stones which are synonymous with the term "Cat's Eye", but Quartz isn't necessarily one of them. Several years ago there was a discovery in Brazil that produced these interesting Cat's Eye gems, and we haven't seen many of them since. What's interesting about these stones is that when you have a "Cat's Eye" Quartz stone, they usually are included with another mineral to create the actual "eye". This stone however, is not included with another mineral species, but still shows a fairly sharp and somewhat distinct "eye" when strongly lit. The gem has a light golden/smoky color, and is translucent internally, The stone has a high dome "Oval Cabochon" cut.
