Item Description
An OLD-TIME, excellent, CABINET quartz specimen from a CLASSIC Connecticut locale - the Lantern Hill Quarry in North Stonington. This is a dramatic, jackstraw cluster of large, lustrous, milky quartz crystals, which have a preferential overgrowth of smaller, second generation quartz crystals on the backside. VERY RARE on the market, in any condition, this fine piece has only one broken quatz tip, which has minimal impact on this historic specimen. The Lantern Hill Quarry opened in the 1870s.
