Quartz & Schorl with Cleavelandite

A truly majestic combination specimen featuring a number of minerals in one showy piece, from this classic gem district. The quartzes are particularly beautiful, extremely sharp, lustrous, and sparkling. It is simply dramatic, for lack of a better word. They did have a few small areas of damage to tips; nothing major but distracting visually. Those have been filled with minor epoxy restoration of such a quality that it is invisible to most eyes (only really visible when you use UV light to detect it). The cleavelandite at the base is a stunning and colorful contrast, and so this looks like quartz mountaintops rising above the clouds. The sharp black schorl tourmaline at the base is a welcome accent. I know this sounds overly poetic and flowery, but that is the kind of specimen we have here. It is not particularly important for any of the species that make it up and yet, somehow, as a combination piece it is really unique and beautiful in an immediate reaction. I do not know how else to say it. Such pieces are fun to own, beautiful to display in the cabinet, and do not compete with other examples of the species you may have because it is simply different. Hopefully the video will capture some of that sparkle. It comes with a custom lucite base.
