From one of the few really new recent finds out of India in 2020, this is a sculptural, aesthetic and pristine upright 360-degree combination from Jalgaon, that contains red apophyllite. Red apophyllite is VERY RARE from Jalgaon. A 4.2 x 3.9 x 2.3 cm tetragonal blocky apophyllite crystal dominates one side of the piece. The glassy, translucent crystal has beautiful variable hues, which are dramatically accented by a striking arboresent spray of red oxides on a frontal face and the layering and impressive stepped-growth of the highly lustrous prism faces. Seven more smaller blocky red apophyllites are a real bonus. Two generations of pearlescent stilbite crystals artistically cover much of the piece - classic light salmon-pink crystals highlighted by the well-placed 6.2 cm doubly terminated bowtie on the crown and a few smaller, glassy, near colorless, tabular prisms. Patches of white mordenite, another Zeolite Group species, are a typical accessory. A fascinating 360-degree combination, with every turn presenting a different perspective.
