A striking, sawed, unpolished nodule of banded rhodochrosite from the famous 1970s-80s finds at Capillitas. Two sides of dramatic dense bands of variable red color and width translucent rhodochrosite encase the creamy rhodo core, that hosts sculptural forms of an unknown mineral, that look like hieroglyphics! This impressive and classic nodule could be sawed into 8 5-mm polished slabs of lesser size. One usually sees rhodo stalactites from here, so this style is uncommon. 413 grams mass.
