Item Description

The Sunnyside Mine produced some very well known Rhodochrosite specimens in its history, along with some attractive association pieces. This specimen features small, light pink "rosettes" of Rhodochrosite rhombohedra which are associated with sugary white Quartz on matrix. The largest Rhodo group measures 3 mm. Beautiful, classic material and is a true staple of any good Colorado collection. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock
