Item Description

Rhodolite Garnets were originally defined as a variety of the species Pyrope, but nearly everybody agrees that any pink or red gem material in the Almandine-Pyrope series can be referred to as Rhodolite. They are unquestionably some of the most vivid and beautiful gems in the Garnet family. These stones are beloved for their great color and large size stones. The Rhodolites from Tanzania are amazingly attractive gems, and are fast becoming very popular among gem collectors, because you just don't get many big colorful red/pink Garnets like this from most world localities. This gem has a strong red color, with very very slight inclusions. The cut on this stone is a "Round Brilliant" cut. It is an excellent stone from what is proving to be one of the premier localities in the world for the material.
