Rose Quartz on Smoky Quartz (ex Richard Kosnar Collection)

This specimen is from a find from the early 1970's. It features rich pink color prismatic hexagonal crystals that have formed a "flower" or "sunburst" type growth which are enveloping a single prism of Smoky Quartz in the center of the specimen. It has a soft luster, but the color is good for the size. Some of the Rose Quartz crystals are also notably gemmy, bordering on transparent in areas. Good quality all around, very minor damage and the color combination is eye-catching and unique in the mineral world. You don't see these on the market anymore, don't miss out! Valued at $900-$1200. This piece was acquired by Richard Kosnar personally in Brazil and remained in his personal collection until his death. Kosnar was a well-known mineral dealer and collector from Colorado, along with being the namesake for the phosphate species Kosnarite.
