Rutile (Reticulated Twins) included in Quartz

A gorgeous cabinet sized specimen of Quartz from the lesser known locality at Paulista in Presidente Kubitschek, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This area is known for producing some beautiful specimens of Quartz with eye-catching inclusions, which is certainly the case for this specimen. This piece features several beautifully well-formed reticulated twins of Rutile (sometimes referred to as "Sagenite") completely suspended inside of the transparent, GEM quality, colorless Quartz host crystal. Now the exterior faces of the specimen have all been polished, but it also allows one to easily view the gentle, thin tabular twinned Rutile groups frozen inside. In fact, it appears there is a slight coating of "snow-like" white Quartz covering the Rutile twins, giving them a "frosted" effect. Viewing the specimen is like looking into an aquarium, as it almost feels like there is life inside of the crystal, and you're just waiting for something to start moving. It's a beautiful overall specimen, and a must-have for any fan of Quartz or inclusion specimens. I can't say I've seen another like it from Paulista. Specimen weight is 327 grams, and it was originally valued by its weight at $15 per gram, and came to us with a price tag of $4,905.00 retail.
