Scapolite (GEM quality)

Item Description

A 100% GEM QUALITY / WATER CLEAR, soft yellow color, thin prismatic crystal of Scapolite (Marialite-Meionite Series) from the Scapolite Locality in Tamil Nadu, India. The crystal is actually doubly-terminated, as I can see tiny crystallized faces on each end under magnification, so I would call this a complete "floater" specimen. As is often the case with any gemmy Scapolite crystal, the color is much stronger when viewing the crystal down the "c" axis, as you can see in the third photo. These crystals came from a find in 2013, and all but disappeared from the market, as virtually nothing has been seen since. If you collect gem crystals, or specifically Scapolites from around the world, do not miss out on your chance to get your hands on a wonderful representation of these beautiful crystals from this fairly obscure locality.
