Item Description

A SUPER RARE and impressive small cabinet schorl from an unknown pegmatite in the very obscure Anza area in the Cahuilla Mining District of Riverside County, which includes the well-known Audrey Lynn, Fano and Lithia Dike mines. The striking, sculptural 360-degree piece is composed of a myriad of highly lustrous, well-striated, densely intergrown, parallel-growth schorl crystals. Snow-white albite and a pod of pearlescent muscovite plates add contrast and color. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, for all the terminated crystal density. Contacting to a few terminations at the top have little actual damage and only a couple of bruised secondary crystals have certainly only negligible impact to the overall very high quality of this piece. Ex Bill Larson Pegmatite Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. A significant and outstanding Riverside County pegmatite rarity.
