Item Description

Schultenite is an very rare lead arsenate and the famous and closed Tsumeb Mine is the Type Locality. The two paper arrows on the excellent combination thumbnail point toward colorless, gypsum-like lathes of Schultenite. Other lathes are scattered about and they reach about 8 mm (not at the arrows). The Tennantite matrix also hosts contrasting patches of bright green Cuprian Adamite, now renamed Zincolivenite. Two occurrences of Schultenite are known from Tsumeb, one from the 1920s and the second from the 1970s. This piece is from the 1970s find. Choice and rare combination material from the Shields Flynn Collection.
