Scolecite on Stilbite

A striking spray of scolecite blades is aesthetically set on the large matrix on this impressive and sculptural combination from recent finds at Nashik. The glassy, lustrous blades reach about 10.7 cm and rest on contrasting pearlescent pretty tan stilbite crystals. Scattered clusters of snow-white laumontite blades on both the scolecites and stilbites are a nice additional accessory and contrast. Scolecite is another member of the Zeolite Group species, such as Stilbite, Mesolite, Heulandite, Goosecreekite, Thomsonite and others, that occurs as world-class specimens from the famous Deccan Traps of Maharashtra. An artistic and excellent large example of the combination species.
