The Poudrette quarry in Quebec, Canada is well known for producing world-class specimens of serandite, and this wonderful thumbnail specimen does not disappoint! Featuring a single 2.7cm well-formed salmon-pink serandite crystal aesthetically perched on a 1.7cm bright-white albite crystal, this elegant thumbnail is a great example from the locality. The serandite is a slightly paler, brighter orange on the front display face, but from the side, distinct color zoning shows a richer and pinkier transformation within. Truly fine thumbnails of this species stand out, and are rarely seen. As a combination instead of the typical "small single crystal," this is nearly unique. A competitive-level specimen.
